I am an artist, mother of four, experienced doula and lactation counselor in Providence, Rhode Island. I spend my days raising four wild kids with my awesome husband, restoring our old house on Smith Hill, and supporting families birthing in all birth settings and in their homes. I have been practicing since 2014. My experience includes supporting families in physiologic birth, inductions, cesarean birth, VBAC, history of trauma, loss, and different access needs. I have additional certifications in lactation, with a focus on evidence based, trauma informed care of the dayad (parent and baby). I practice inclusive care, open to anyone and everyone. During the time of COVID-19, I see this access to dedicated, in-person care as especially vital for childbearing families. It has been an honor to safely care for families during this pandemic. You can find more about my approach and experience here.

Families who have doula support experience:

  • 39% decrease in the risk of Cesarean birth

  • 15% increase in the likelihood of a spontaneous vaginal birth

  • 10% decrease in the use of any medications for pain relief

  • Shorter labors

  • 38% decrease in the baby’s risk of a low five minute Apgar score;

  • 31% decrease in the risk of being dissatisfied with the birth experience

Introducing a 2 hour parent education course for anyone who is pregnant, currently conceiving or between pregnancies hoping for a better experience than the previous. You will leave with knowledge to make decisions about your care, best practices to prevent harm and know who the helpers are when you need them. There is no cost for this course and each participant will receive a $20 gift card.

As of July 1st, 2022, all Rhode Island based commercial and Medicaid insurance plans are mandated cover doula services. I accept all four RI plans: Neighborhood Health Plan, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Rhode Island, United Health Care and Tufts. Schedule a consult to talk more about the doula support you are looking for and what your plan covers.
